The month of November is upon us. It is a time for reflection for me. The previous riding season with good friends and the good times that went with it is always on my mind. November also brings about Remembrance Day. Everyone’s experience with Remembrance Day is different, depending on your generation, family, traditions and your personal experience with war. Whatever your personal reflections are, take time to honour those who have dedicated their lives to serve our nation.
Now that Autumn is here we need to take advantage of as much riding time as possible when the weather is good. November may have a few good days in it, 2 years ago a group of us headed to Boston Bar on the November long weekend, snow tires and chains were not required. Some great riding possibilities present themselves at this time of year. Bundle up, stay safe, get out and ride.
Change is one of the factors we all must embrace at one time or another, for instance our recent changes that occurred to the GWRRA. Upon reflection so far so good this year…another change will be with Chapter D in the lower mainland. Dave Truesdell is stepping down as Chapter Director as of December 31st 2018. If anyone in Chapter D would like to “give back” to the group as Chapter Director, now is the time.
Looking forward we have dates scheduled for the 2019 District Rides:
- 2019 Gypsy Run – June 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th.
- 2019 Island ride August 17th, & 18th.
The routes and destinations are yet to be determined, however, we wanted dates out there so there were no huge conflicts when ride calendars are being planned for 2019.
In late January 2019 we have the Vancouver Motorcycle Show being held at the Tradex in Abbotsford B.C. District NWC will have a booth promoting the GWRRA. As this is a “district event” we will be reaching out to all chapters for volunteers to man the booth and visit the show. More details will follow in separate emails to the chapter directors. Show dates are January 18th – 20th 2019.
Planning for the district rally has begun and we are looking to have some very interesting riding
opportunities, tours and activities for all attendees.
N.W.C District Rally dates are as follows: July 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th 2019. Location will be 100 Mile House B.C. Stay tuned for further details.
Thank you for being members of the GWRRA. Your membership and participation are what
makes the GWRRA the finest International Motorcycle Riding organization in North America.
Until I see you all again, Be safe – Ride safe.
